Introducing News in Brief: Additional Stories You May Be Interested in Reading

Phillip Dampier December 6, 2010 Editorial & Site News No Comments

Because so many stories break throughout the day, many of which we have insufficient time to cover, we are introducing some News in Brief-pieces which will briefly summarize the main points of a story and invite you to follow a link to learn more.  We will still be producing long-form articles which expand and explain the implications of stories impacting the broadband world, from a consumer perspective.

All of our linked items routinely appear on Stop the Cap! in bold print.  Wherever you see bold print outside of a headline or section break, that represents a clickable link.  Points we like to emphasize appear in bold italic print.

A reminder to readers just joining us — many stories include reader comments which provide important perspectives about the stories we cover.  If you want to read comments (or share your own) on a story we cover, the easiest way to access them is to click on the headline of any story here, which will open a page that includes reader comments, and a editor to share your own views at the bottom of the story.

On the right side of your screen, you’ll find the latest reader comments written across all of our articles.  If you click on the name or handle of the author, the site will take you to the article where the comment appears.

You can subscribe to any article’s comments by ticking the box labeled: “Notify me of follow-up comments via e-mail.”  It is located just below the editor window.  Whenever someone writes a new comment on that story, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you choose.  Unsubscribe at any time.

Should you find your comment not appearing on the site, it may have been marked as spam.  We review the spam folder regularly looking for misplaced comments, so there is no need to re-submit them.  They will be approved and visible in short order.  Please remember that comments containing profanity or personal attacks are subject to review, editing, and/or rejection.  Comments containing advertisements, referral links for products or services, or other related content may be rejected and/or removed from the site.  If we miss comment spam, please feel free to notify us using the contact form linked in the upper-right corner of your screen.

If you are a regular reader here, consider opening an account.  It takes seconds, and requires a minimum of personal information.
