Just a slight addition.
The listed llinois communities are all in the Springfield, IL area, since some of the info was from the Springfield State Journal-Register newspaper.
The Verizon/Frontier transaction tends to receive little Illinois media attention since most major Illinois cities are AT&T territory. However, if you look at an Illinois map, the transaction area involved runs thru a large part of the state, from one end to the other.

Largest Illinois cities involved in this transaction are:
Bloomington/Normal (125K population), Marion/Carbondale(50K),
Dunlap/North Peoria area/Chillicothe/Morton/Washington (50K+),
DeKalb (40K), Jacksonville (20K), Macomb (19K), Lincoln (16K)
These population counts are for the named cities, not the rural areas near them.
