Prior to agreeing to Verizon Fios TV and internet in August 2009, I spoke with at least 3 Verizon customer service representatives, who assured me that if I moved to an area not served by Fios prior to the end of my 12 month contract I would not be charged an early termination fee. I am moving to a rural area in Wisconsin at the end of July and am now informed by Customer Service that I WILL have to pay an early termination fee. Verizon also claims my contract term extends for 7 days beyond the date they installed the service???

Verizon lies, cheats and steals from their customers. The lie to you about your service and then once you realize what they've done you call to cancel (2 days later) and they say "sorry you still have to pay for the whole month. Oh, we have no record of you calling and canceling, but we show your account cancelled. We have no way of knowing how or when you canceled and we have no notes on your account. We NEVER received the service in the first place, but they still billed. They say you can't speak to a supervisor when you call in (after lying to you for 2 hours) and say a supervisor will call you back between 24 and 48 hours. All BS. They are criminals. Don't do business with them. We're sorry we ever got Verizon FIOS. We like the service that we actually get, but hate Verizons rotten lying customer service. How can they charge you $180 for a service you never received and say that even if you did call and cancel within 2 days you still have to pay the whole amount even though they lied and said the MLB package would have all stations in HD when they only have 1 station. What's worse as my husband was never able to see anything even for those 2 days. What is so stupid is that why would someone cancel an account after 2 days if they were told that they would still have to pay for the whole month. This makes no since. Don't do business with these people.

We're quite aware promotions come and go, but when a price hike comes down the line from corporate, the new promotional price tends to be higher than the old one.

You will find nobody here who has a bad thing to say about FiOS broadband except the fact it's not available to some people.

As long as Verizon stays away from Internet Overcharging schemes like consumption billing and usage limits, their #1 customer rating position is safe and secure.

The vast majority of negative coverage Verizon gets comes as a result of decisions made in their corporate offices involving pricing, public policy, investment decisions, and the fact the wonders of FiOS come in part from resources directed away from more rural Verizon service areas they are now increasingly trying to rid themselves of.

As a sales rep, you benefit from the fact the product sells itself, at least among those who understand its benefits. :-)

I'm a sales rep for Verizon FIOS. Don't put too much weight on the facts above until you see them published. The promotion that ends soon has nothing to do with a price hike. We get new promotions every 3 to 4 months. We are, for once, practically giving away FIOS now. The only people that are not on FIOS now are either in fear of change or someone has not explained the difference of FIOS and the other services to them. I spend all day raising the quality of services and lowering bills or Tampa Bay potential customers. It's a major win / win for anyone getting FIOS.

phones fell on def ears for months had no effect. Well they did no get their
$90. In today's world you lie cheat and steal for everything. As I was doing
the math they owed me.
