Here is some more interesting info about our beloved Time Warner. When are these guys gonna learn. The story is about how they're going after a Municipal broadband service in North Carolina's Research Triangle called Greenlight. I'm really starting to get sick of these companies that treat their customers like an inconvenience.

Set your PDA's to revisit this issue in 6 months. Google Time warner pricing to see what they're doing. Time Warner may try to quietly sneak this capping plan on us again. We have to scream again if necessary. Thank goodness schumer, massa and the people have pushed back. Get rid of your road runner email now to facilitate the drop process if necessary.

If you scan through some the articles, you'll see various help wanted posts. I am also trying to collect this kind of information for the resources section:

Alternative providers in Beaumont, San Antonio, Austin, Texas and Greensboro, NC. Pricing and package information important.

Lists of elected officials and contact information for all cities impacted by this. Town/city councils, Congress, etc.

News tips on things being found on the web

People to act as correspondents to cover the social networking groups' activities on this issue, plus people to spread the word out about this site.

If you see gaps in what we're doing, and want to help spearhead a project to fill that gap, that would be great too.

I am currently spending 5-6 hours a day on interviews, content development, research, and site administration, which basically taps me out so I cannot do much beyond that. This has to be a group effort to be successful, so content writers are also welcomed.

You can use the contact form to write to me directly if you want to get involved in any of these projects.

Beaumont is the armpit of Texas. Good place to do baseline tests which accurately mirror economically advancing cities.

I've been a Time Warner customer for 8 years now in San Antonio.
An internet cap like this in San Antonio is only viable for Time Warner because of lack of competition in the area. I've called and written TW about their plan, and told them I'll disconnect all services at the first sign of them metering my internet use.

A slower connection, 3mbs, from AT&T is far preferable to a 40gb Cap.
Hoping Grande Communication will step up in my neighborhood as well.

email Time Warner Executive Customer Service:
twc.cotp@twcable.com

They'll respond, and clearly they read it.

I'm new to this page. I purposely searched for a site that would help voice he outrage of myself ad others against the bandwidth caps. I hope we ca somehow unite and get change. Whether it be by a mass reduction in service month by all of TWs customers or something similar. We need to rainstorm something that show these providers enough is enough.

Yes, one MAJOR point that was mentioned is that TW SOLD US THIS SERVICE based on download speeds and what have you in their ad campaigns. Now that we used it like they said, they want to make more from our use of it.

I not only pay for standard RR, but also Turbo as I want the download speed. Again, sold on this plan by RR and already pay more for it. Our video security is done via the Internet, our phone, our research, our entertainment. We already pay over $100 a month for TW services. Hey TW, is that a banner ad I just had seen on another site trying to sell me cable service? Hummm...Hello...It would have just cost me to download YOUR AD. (Thanks for that.)

Part of the story here is that TW Pay-Per-View has been greatly affected by NetFlix, Hulu, Amazon, Apple, Etc. as well as the VERY HIGH PRICED phone service that offer. As such, they are now looking for ways to make that up. (TW, YOUR PRICES ARE TO HIGH FOR PPV & PHONE SERVICE.) Are the poor people that did not know better and got suckered into the TW phone service now running the risk of paying higher prices as their phone goes over the net connection? Bandwidth is bandwidth after all.

If the D&C and other government agencies do not get behind this issue, they they are also to blame as this affects everyone. They NEED to look into this deeper for the good of the community. I mean, if this site could, I do not see why others could not. Local broadcast news also should be getting more into this and keeping it alive.

And by all means...Verizon...PLEASE GET TO ROCHESTER as your FIOS is OUTSTANDING. HD TV and FASTER internet at a great price. PLEASE PLEASE get to Rochester as you have MANY customers waiting.
